MARPAT (short for Marine Pattern) is a multi-scale, pixelated camouflage used by the United States Marine Corps. It is designed with small rectangular pixels rather than traditional organic shapes, allowing the wearer to blend into natural settings seamlessly across varying distances and scales. The USMC developed MARPAT in 2001 after observing the statistical success of digital camo and officialy rolling out in in 2002, modifying the design to meet their own rigorous environmental standards.
