The U.S. Air Force utilized two main versions of tiger stripe camo: an experimental blue-based pattern and the officially adopted Digital Tiger Stripe. The digital version was used as the standard issue uniform for nearly a decade before being fully replaced in 2021 by the uniform adopted by the rest of the Department of Defense. The digital tiger stripe aimed to disrupt the human silhouette, incorporating blue-green hues and sandy tan shades, but it was heavily criticized by both original designers and operators for functioning more as a "fashion statement" than effective combat concealment.
